“Rejoice in Hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer.”

Romans 12:12 is a compact yet powerful verse that offers guidance for navigating life’s ups and downs with spiritual resilience. It reads:

🌟 “Be joyful in hope”

  • This encourages believers to find joy not in current circumstances, but in the hope of what’s to come.
  • Hope here is rooted in faith—trusting that God’s promises will be fulfilled, even if the present is difficult.
  • Joy in hope is not naive optimism; it’s a deep, spiritual confidence that better days are ahead.

In summary, this verse encourages us to trust in God, receive His joy and peace, and be filled with hope through the Holy Spirit.

Our selected children’s book used to enhance and foster a deeper understanding of this year's' theme is, “What is God Like?”, by Rachel Held Evans & Matthew Paul Turner.

God

Children who are introduced to God, through attending church or having loved ones who speak about God, often have a lot of questions, including this ever-popular one: What is God like? The late Rachel Held Evans loved the Bible and loved showing God’s love through the words and pictures found in that ancient text. Through these pictures from the Bible, children see that God is like a shepherd, God is like a star, God is like a gardener, God is like the wind, and more. God is a comforter and support.

And whenever a child is unsure, What Is God Like? encourages young hearts to “think about what makes you feel safe, what makes you feel loved, and what makes you feel brave. That's what God is like..

Romans 12:12—“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer”—offers a message of spiritual resilience that beautifully aligns with the themes in What Is God Like? by Rachel Held Evans and Matthew Paul Turner. The verse encourages believers to find joy in the hope of God’s promises, endure hardship with patience, and remain connected to God through faithful prayer.

Similarly, the children’s book paints a tender, imaginative portrait of God as a comforting, ever-present figure—gentle like a shepherd, strong like a fortress, and close like a friend. Both texts affirm that God is with us in joy and sorrow, inviting us to trust, to ask questions, and to stay rooted in love. While Romans 12:12 offers a framework for living faithfully, What Is God Like? translates that framework into language that nurtures a child’s heart, helping young readers understand that God is always near, especially when life feels uncertain

As a school community we work hard and collaboratively to maintain high standards of academics and discipline. We provide students the tools necessary to experience success on spiritual, academic, and social levels. We foster and develop a close working relationship with our parents, our parish, and the greater community. We know your time with us will be memorable!
